Whether you decide on a setting up a blog, or developing your own online store, the path to success is through understanding what you want and what tools are available for you to get it.  Your own skills can play a big role as well, because if you are good at writing then writing articles online could be your path.  If you are good with the internet and online stuff then you could make money by completing surveys.  The ability to earn money online opens up avenues of personal freedom that we all desire.
