The Little Known Benefits of Internal Linking

Everybody who has professed to know anything at all about search engine optimization knows about link building.  Every single one of them will give you a list of ways to build links to your site (or how they will do it for you) to help your site to gain authority for its keywords.

All of them will talk about getting links to your site’s home page.  Some of them will talk about getting links that point to your internal pages.  How many talk about building internal link nets within your own site?  Not many of them.  Why not?  The fact is that not a lot of people know how important they really are.

Building internal links within your site is actually very important for a number of reasons.  Not only do they help your visitors to easily navigate to areas of your site where they can find the information they want, but they help you to be able to guide the search engine crawlers to the content you want them to crawl.  The biggest advantage, however, in terms of SEO is that they pass authority.

If you have a few posts that the search engines don’t seem to want to notice, try linking to those pages from other pages that the search engines do like.  Before long, you will likely see that those pages have suddenly gained favor.  You may even see some that have gained PR in the next pagerank update without any external links pointing to them.  That PR was passed to them from the other areas of your site.  That’s how internal linking works.

Now, go do yourself a favor: go grab a plugin like “SEO Smart Links” and install it on your site.  Set up the “Custom Keywords” to link your keywords to the posts that you wrote to target those keywords.  Every time those keywords show up in one of your articles the plugin will link them to the appropriate post.  It won’t take long to set up, and your internal link net will be done.

In order to thrive, an internet business needs any advantage it can get.  Internal linking will not take the place of good, old-fashioned external backlinks, but it just could be the edge you need to push your site to the top.

How To Avoid Wasting Money When Starting an Internet Business

I know it is old news but the truth is that an internet home business is a fabulous way to not only make a living but also a great way to make a fortune. Often people don’t recognize the opportunities that are right in front of them. With the internet this happens all too often.

There are two main problems that people run into when starting internet businesses. First, they often quit too soon. They realize that it will actually be work and they give in. This is disappointing because the nature of the internet is that the longer you build an internet business the more it pays and the less you have to do. In the beginning however, you must invest your time and effort.

Next, people often end up spending too much money on what sounds like a hot scheme only to find out later that they got taken. People often resent this and come to the conclusion that the internet is nothing but a waste of time and money. A good rule to live by on the internet, is that if you are not getting a tangible benefit from any money spent on the internet you are probably wasting your cash.

Here are some other great ideas to avoiding investing more money than is necessary:

Choose a System and treat it like a job. The largest single mistake entrepreneurs make is to not use a system. Systems work, look at Mcdonalds and the assembly line. Successful self sustaining businesses are nothing more than complex systems. If you pick a system and execute proven strategies you will be successful. Working a system does not mean that you don’t have to work and it doesn’t mean that you can’t be creative it just means that you are not reinventing the wheel.

Boot strapping is a great way to get wealthy and not have a load of debt associated with that fortune. Debt is responsibility and most people do not want more responsibility than they need. Yes you will probably have to spend a little bit of money on start up cost, but don’t break the bank and wait until you have to money to reinvest to really start ramping things up. Invest your time first. This too will make it more valuable to you.

Learn what you need to do. Making money online is not rocket science but it also isn’t easy. It doesn’t take a genius but it does take brains and persistence. People often think that they can overlook educating themselves and still be a success on the internet. Do your research and learn what is necessary to become successful. You would not try to become an airline pilot without proper training. What makes you think this is any different?  Having a Successful internet home business is well within your reach with the right tools and the right perspective.
